We had an excellent experience! The staff was funny and friendly. The hotel was very clean. Service in the restaurant was great. Safety was never once a concern. Local police drive through the parking lot on a very regular basis. We will not question our next New Orleans stay, we will definitely be back at Holiday Inn, Gretna!
The staff are amazing and made sure my performance group of 30 people were well attended to and even let us hang out in their lobby for two days while our touring bus was being repair. Really over the top customer service but beyond that, just excellent human beings looking out for each other. Thank you Holiday Inn Whitney Ave.
The only issue I had was as a Government Employee on orders I was charged room tax, which the state of Louisiana exempts. I explained it to the Night Manager, it was 2:45am, that I needed the tax removed but he required a Form R-1376 in order to do so. I would recommend that all Government travelers be aware of this prior to arrival. I have left messages with accounting but have had no one call me back to fix the situation as I am in possession of the proper form.
I'm really struck by the honesty of the housekeeping staff. My wife and I spent the night on the northshore at my aunt and uncle's one night, and my wife forgot her $3.5k engagement ring on the counter in the bathroom. We got back to the hotel, and it was still there after the maids having gone thru twice while we were gone. The rooms are amazing, too!!!
As always I had an awesome experience!!! I love the room, the restaurant, and the highly professional staff.
Limited parking. Apparently they have an agreement with a cruise line and keep the cars from the passengers thus parking was full. Received as normal as any other guest and no breakfast was served . But place was clean and room was wide. Bed was great.
