A Gretna police officer was fired and arrested on criminal charges, accused of kicking a handcuffed burglary suspect in an incident caught on video, authorities said Friday (Sept. 16). Robert Wallow, 47, was booked with simple battery and malfeasance in office, Chief Arthur Lawson said.
Gretna Police are ridiculous. They always come in absolute force to the silliest and non-threatening situations. My husband left our dog in our air conditioned and running car for five minutes while he came in and got my daughter ready to take them both to the park. One young and cocky cop pulled up, with three other police cars, to tell him to come and get our dog out! The car was very cool and the dog was in no danger and sitting waiting patiently. The cop was very rude and didn't care when my husband tried to explain the situation. When he got the dog out (a puppy of ten months and extremely friendly) the police officer put his hand on his gun and told my husband to get him inside immediately. Are Gretna police that bored that they roll up to situations like this in force? They were absolute bullies today and it makes me sick to live in Gretna when police act like this. This isn't the first time I've heard Gretna police act like this.
"This is not one of the brightest days of the Gretna Police Department," Lawson said.
